Concept of NESLET

In order to maintain a uniform standard of teaching and research in the country, the govt. of India through its notification dated 22nd July, 1988 regarding revised pay scales states that "only those candidates who besides fulfilling the minimum academic qualifications prescribed for the posts of lecturer, have qualified in a comprehensive Test, to be specifically conducted for the purpose, will be eligible for appointment as Lecturers". UGC discussed the question of qualifying for appointment as Lecturer with a group of academics, State Education Secretaries etc. in pursuance of the above decision. Accordingly, the UGC conducted the test for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility of Lecturership on 24th Dec, 1989 and 29th April, 1990 in the subject falling under Humanities and Social Studies including languages. The CSIR conducted the joint UGC-CSIR Test for JRF and eligibility for lecturership on 31st Dec, 1989 for Science disciplines. Read more...

NOTIFICATION No. SET/18, Date : 14-10-17

It is notified for information of all concerned that the online form fill-up for State Eligibility Test (SET), 2018 will be stated from 16-10-2017 to 30-11-2017. The candidates may submit application form in the web site www.sletneonline.co.in instead of www.sletneonline.in . The web site www.sletne.org may also be consulted but will have to login in the linkage and the other web site www.sletneonline.co.in in which application from will be available.

It is notified for information of all concerned that the next State Eligibility Test (SET), 2018 conducted by the State Level Eligibility Test Commission, Assam will be held on 04-02-18 in all the University Centres of N.E States. The candidates will have to submit applications through on-line system. Details procedure of submission of application Form, syllabus of different subjects and other information are available in the web-site www.sletne.org and www.sletneonline.co.in. The candidates may submit application form in the web site www.sletneonline.co.in. The web site www.sletne.org may also be consulted but will have to login in the linkage and the other web site www.sletneonline.co.in in which application from will be available. The Candidates will have to fill up forms for generating Bank Challan. The Bank Challan will have to be downloaded and printed for payment of fees in the SBI. The website will be operating from 16-10-17 to 30-11-17. Besides the subjects of last year, 5 new subjects are also introduced in SET, 2018. These are Arabic, Persian, Law, Computer Science and Environmental Science. The examination will be held in the same pattern like that of the other subjects.
